Making Cartridges

This book is the third one in our list published with the assistance of The Watchdog as part of an effort to inprove the historical accuracy of reenactors.

The purpose of this book is to get the reenactor to make and carry rounds that resemble the period ammunition of the civil war soldier. And, speaking from my own observations, I haven't seen many rounds in cartridge boxes that look like period rounds (my own included in that number).

The instructions provided in this book seem relatively simple. He also provides guides for making the wrapping around each ten rounds as well as directions to make your own ammunition box. There is also a discussion of the various kinds of powder available from the different manufacturers.

All in all, this is a very practical guide for making something that almost all infantrymen use in abundance each season.

24 pages plus a reference table insert. 8 1/2 by 11 inch format. Paperbound.

Price: $10.00
