This is a basic textbook for the four main functions of arithmetic and fractions. It
contains numerous tables as well as word problems. When looking at the tables, it becomes
abundantly clear that the way arithmetic was learned in the nineteenth century was throught
drill and repetition. Not very exciting but a lot of the people of that time probably
could have done simple arithmetic in their heads faster than modern high school students
