Blocks

CHECK WITH US ABOUT THIS ITEM BEFORE ORDERING. OUR INVENTORY IS GETTING DEPLETED AND WE ARE HAVING A BIT OF A PROBLEM RESTOCKING.

One of the simpler toys but also one of the most creative is a set of wooden blocks. These sets of blocks use leftover scraps. In a Godey's, they mention the simplicity but also the high play value of wooden blocks. Besides these simple blocks, in the 1860's there were commercially manufactured sets of blocks, some being alphabet blocks and others used for constructing buildings, sometimes with faux stone outlines stamped on the side so that the child felt more like he was constructing a real building.

The picutre shows a set chosen at random from our stock. Each set is different so you may want to get several sets. We will be just picking a bag at random from our stock so, if you buy one set and want another, we can't guarantee it will have the same pieces.
