behind how the generals were assigned to the different cards but doesn't seem to be any correlation with

Grant is only the five of diamonds.

These two decks of cards are reproductions of decks published in 1863. Each card
shows an engraving of a general ranging from the very well known to obscure generals who would be
challenging to identify in a game of civil war trivia.
